The heart of the MACS™ system is the Universal Vertical Plenum or cage stack. The standard cage stack is 10 mouse cages high. Each cage stack has a supply plenum side and an exhaust plenum. The cage brackets are attached to the vertical stack and fold up for easy moving and storage.
There is also a universal vertical cage stack for rat cages. The standard for it is 6 cages high.
Both the standard mouse and standard rat cage stacks are the same height and, are therefore, interchangeable on several MACS frames. You can go from mouse cages to rat cages and back as you may need based on cages using water bottles.
New! Gentle-Air mouse cage stack with composite cage brackets.
Holds up to ten (10) standard size mouse cages, either 65 square inch floor or 75 square inch floor. Brackets are made of high strength Amodel® Nylon Resin with fiberglas filament reinforcement for durability. Composite brackets lessen cage stack weight. Hih visibility yellow cage latches make it very easy to confirm from across the room which cages are properly docked. This saves valuable technician inspection time.
Flex-Air™ Cage Stack
This stack holds up to ten (10) of the patented Flex-Air style mouse cages. This cage's unique design provides extra protection for mice not found on other cages. HEPA filtered air is not directly forced into the cage but follows a mini barrier path to further eliminate dust-riding bacteria from entering the micro-environment. A laminar flow of air into the cage provides more efficient coverage of the bedding some the cage air changes per hour is reduced for a more comfortable environment for the animals.
Rat Cage Stack
Rat Cage stack holds up to six (6) standard shaped rat cages, about 141 square inch floor.
Large Mouse Stack
This cage stack holds up to seven (7) standard size large mouse cages. These cages have a floor of approximately 147 square inches.
The above cage stacks are all the same height on the Modular Animal Caging System®. This makes them interchangeable on many of the MACS frames. You can change cages as your rodent research model needs change without buying all new ventilated equipment. This helps you reduce your capital equipment costs.
