Alternative Design is very proud of its professional personnel. During the company’s rapid growth as one of the primary providers of laboratory animal housing solutions, it has aggressively assembled a team of highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to providing customers top quality products and unequalled customer service. The culture of the company stems from its commitment to exceed customer expectations. This dedication consistently runs throughout the entire Alternative Design team, from the entry-level personnel to top management.

Eddie Loyd Eddie Loyd, President/Owner: Eddie graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Banking. Career paths directed him to the family owned Agribusiness. Eddie has more than 25 years in the design and fabrication of animal housing systems for research. Eddie remains very active in all aspects of Alternative Design by providing leadership to the Alternative Design management team. Eddie is also the past president of the Allied Trades Association to AALAS and has served on the Exhibitor Advisor Council of AALAS.

Georga Loyd Georga Loyd, Co-Owner: As one of the founders of Alternative Design, Georga has been involved in all facets of the business and instrumental in the company’s substantial growth in such a short period. After attending the University of Arkansas where she met Eddie, they had their own poultry enterprise. Upon starting Alternative Design, Georga literally worked in production as well as bookkeeping. She assisted Eddie with sales and attended industry tradeshows. Administering the tradeshows developed into responsibility for all the marketing and promotional activities of the company. Although semi-retired, Georga still attends major trade events, meets with customers and works on special projects for the company.

Don Daniels Don Daniels, National Sales Manager: Don attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX where he earned a 4 year tennis scholarship and a degree in Business Management. He has over 21 years experience in the material handling industry with high density and automated storage and retrieval systems. Don began his career as a Systems Sales Engineer with ClarkLift of Tulsa. He was recruited by Stanley-Vidmar as Sales Engineer and was promoted to Regional Manager. In Don’s fifteen-year career with Stanley-Vidmar, he developed business in a broad range of markets. Don joined Alternative Design in March 2005.

Peggy Nahorski Peggy Nahorski, Account Manager: Peggy has been in the lab animal industry for more than 20 years. She has been a Regional Sales Manager as well as a Manager for Toxicology Service Group for such companies as Purina Mills, Inc. and Monsanto’s Environmental Health Laboratory. Peggy earned a Bachelor of Science from Maryville University as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Animal Health from Jefferson College, graduating Magna Cum Laude from both universities. Peggy is also a member and actively involved with many lab animal associations. She has recently been chairperson for the PR committee of LAMA and is currently serving as Secretary. She has also held numerous positions in AALAS such as Program Chair and Branch President. Peggy joined the Alternative Design sales team in 1999.

Craig Welch Craig Welch, Account Manager: Craig has been in the veterinary and lab animal research field for more than 7 years. His experience is in helping animal research facilities in the Midwest with their animal housing needs. Craig has also worked with his customers in planning and the design of animal facilities. He attended Wisconsin State University in Whitewater and has been in sales for more than 30 years.


Ann Dinkel Ann Marie Dinkel, Account Manager: Ann is a Penn State graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and a Masters in Management. Ann is also an ILAM graduate and RLATG certified. She has a long and varied career in lab animal science, first as a facility manager for several Ivy League universities, and more recently as a trainer and consultant. Ann has been active in DVB and NJAALAS branches, having served on several boards and as president. She currently serves as a District 2 Trustee and BOT liaison for the Certification and Registry Board. Ann joined Alternative Design in September of 2007.

K.C.Reese K.C.Reese, Account Manager: K.C. has been in sales and management within the laboratory animal industry for more than 28 years. During his career, he has worked closely with research facilities through customer service and has held sales positions as an account representative, regional sales manager and most recently Divisional Sales Manager for a large multinational company serving this industry. K.C. has been a long standing member of national AALAS, numerous local AALAS branches and LAMA. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Public and Environmental Health from Indiana University. K.C and his family reside in Indianapolis, Indiana. K.C. joined Alternative Design in September of 2007.

Grant Loyd Grant Loyd, Quality / Service Department Manager: Grant has literally grown-up in the company and industry. While in high school, vacations and breaks were spent going to tradeshows and delivering equipment to customers. After attending the University of Arkansas, Grant joined Alternative Design full time. He has worked in the Production area building customers’ housing systems, as well as playing key roles in Purchasing and Marketing. Grant’s product knowledge and his ability to form strong bonds with our customers and understand their facility’s needs made him the perfect selection to develop the company’s Field Service Department.

Manville Michael Manville Michael, Operations Manager: Manville is over all aspects of Operations, from the design of the product, to ordering of the material, manufacturing and shipping the product to our customers. Manville has been with Alternative Design since 1994 and has been involved in almost all aspects of the company. Manville’s current responsibilities are production, engineering and administration of all standard products. Manville came to Alternative Design with an Associates Degree in Applied Science and Drafting Technology, and has applied that knowledge by helping develop many of our current products we offer.

Dave Demorotski Dave Demorotski, Marketing Manager: Dave attended Indiana University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing / Advertising, and went on to continue his education by receiving his Masters in Advertising from Michigan State University. Dave has worked in the Marketing and Advertising industry for 30+ years as a Senior Product Manager as well as Director of Marketing for companies in the hardware and automotive aftermarket industry. Dave joined the Alternative Design Team in 2003.


Holly Stephenson Holly Stephenson, Human Resource Manager, PHR.: Holly graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in English. After graduation, Holly and her husband moved to Siloam Springs where she began in human resources with Simmons Foods Inc. She has worked as Employment Recruiter and Human Resources Manager with Simmons. While with Simmons, she received extensive training in Lean Manufacturing, served on the company safety team and was responsible for monthly plant employee training. Holly has continued her education in human resources and recently obtained her Professional in Human Resources certification. Holly is a member of NOARK, the NW Arkansas Human Resources Organization as well as SHRM, the National Society for Human Resources Management.
